Volunteers Program
The staff of The Alliance for Children's Rights is small, but our workforce includes thousands of volunteers dedicated to helping us reach our goals. From high-powered attorneys to high school students, these generous individuals are making a difference in the lives of children and
families throughout Los Angeles.
Law Firms and Attorneys
Thousands of dedicated legal professionals donate their time and expertise by providing free legal assistance and representation to children in need of guardianship, adoption, health care, special education, public benefits or other critical services.
The Alliance is proud to have active relationships with nearly 100 law firms and hundreds of private attorneys throughout Los Angeles.
Interns
Each semester, The Alliance is fortunate to have interns and externs from local law schools and universities join in our mission to advocate on behalf of impoverished children. These hard working law and social work students assist with client intake, preparing legal documents, research
and writing on topics related to adoption, guardianship, child abuse and neglect, special education, emancipation, public benefits and health care.
Community Volunteers
Friends from throughout the community donate countless hours every year to help make Adoption Days and other special events like our annual dinner a success. Their compassion and dedication has helped us raise both funds and awareness to help our county’s most abused and neglected
children.
Court Buddies
Established in 2003, this unique program is helping to create young philanthropists. On Adoption Days, “Court Buddies” from ages 8 to 16 are paired up with foster children waiting for their adoption hearing. The Court Buddy is there to calm and entertain them with games and
crafts, and to remind them that it is truly a day to celebrate. Both children come away knowing how important it is to have a friend, and to be a friend.
