Mission Statement

The Alliance for Children's Rights provides free legal services and advocacy to protect the rights of impoverished and abused children and youth so that they have safe, stable homes, health care and the education they need to thrive.

Since our founding in 1992, we've served over 70,000 children and youth in Los Angeles County. For many of our clients, The Alliance is the only connection to a safer, brighter future.

What We Do

We work to guarantee that foster children in need of special education and related services have what they need to succeed in school and continue their education.

We cut through the bureaucracy of the courts, medical offices, school districts, and government agencies to ensure the safety and future of L.A.’s children.

Our staff and extensive network of pro bono attorneys advocate directly for individual children, in addition to working for broader policy reform to:

Expedite adoptions.

Secure medical coverage and treatments.

Obtain special education services for foster children with disabilities.

Assist youth aging out of foster care with self-advocacy skills.

Assist youth finding housing, resources and mentors.
