The Public Benefits Program helps caregivers access the appropriate funding and services for the children in their care.
The Alliance represents relative caregivers in benefits appeals through the administrative fair hearing process to obtain the right level of support that a child is entitled to based on his or her level of need. A major focus of this work is helping relative caregivers access the necessary and appropriate benefits for disabled children who require highly specialized and intensive care.
Ultimately, the correct benefits and support services mean the difference between a safe, stable and often permanent placement and one that is ill-equipped and at risk of falling apart. Funding and services are crucial for the incredible caregivers, people making huge sacrifices to step up for abused or neglected children, to be able to give these kids the home they need to thrive.
